A legal research team at Burton Blatt Institute (BBI), partnering with the DBTAC - Southeast ADA Center, will identify and analyze legal and policy developments relevant to civil rights protections and federal decisions under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) from the relevant federal circuits that cover the eight-state geographic area. These circuit courts of appeal are as follows: Fourth – North and South Carolina, Fifth – Mississippi, Sixth – Kentucky and Tennessee, Eleventh – Alabama, Georgia, and Florida. Specifically, researchers will develop for dissemination ADA case law development impact statements, highlighting pending cases before these courts and the impact of decisions in the relevant states and industries of the Southeast.
